The first episode of Time Slip Dr. Jin, a korean live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga series Jin written by Motoka Murakami, premiered on May 26. The kdrama runs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:50 pm in MBC.
Time Slip Dr. Jin is a kdrama starring the main roles with Song Seung-hun(Summer Scent, East Of Eden) as Dr. Jin; Park Min-young(Sungkyunkwan Scandal, City Hunter) as Yoo Mi Na in present day, Hong Young Rae at Joseon Dynasty Period; and Kim Jaejoong of JYJ as Kim Kyung Tak. It is a romance, medical and time travel series telling the story of a 21st century Neurosurgeon named Jin Hyuk who slipped time due to an accident and suddenly finds himself trapped in the Joseon Dynasty.
Before the kdrama adaptation of the same manga inspiration, a Japanese live-action of the manga series was aired in Japan TBS on Titled “JIN“, it follows the story of Jin Minakata who traveled back in time at the end of the Edo Period due to an accident. The role of Jin Minakata was played by Osawa Takao(Heaven’s Coin, Goemon), with actress Ayase Haruka(Hotaru no Hikari, Mr. Brain) who played the role of Tachibana Saki. The series consisted of 11 episodes which aired from October to December 2009. A sequel followed consisting of 10 episodes which run from April to June 2011.
