The season finale for the sequel to “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, “The Legend Of Korra”, aired on Nickelodeon on June 23. The first season, Book One: Air, premiered on April 14 with 12 chapters (episodes). Book One continues Avatar‘s practice of naming the seasons after the four bending elements in the order of the cycle of the Avatar’s rebirth, with “Air” following Avatar’s “Water”, “Earth” and “Fire”.
After the conclusion of Book One, Nicktoons will re-air the twelve episodes with added commentary from the series’s creators between July 9 to July 20, 2012 under the name “Korra: Making of a Legend”.
Though there are no broadcast date announcement yet, Book Two will consist of 14 episodes. According to the series’ creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, about half will take place in Republic City and half in other areas of the world. As of June 2012, Book Two’s writing had been completed and the season was in the process of being storyboarded and animated.
