During the recent Wonder Festival on July 29, attendees gave attention to the 4-meter and 4-ton rideable robot called Kuratas KR01. The robot is created by Kogoro Kurata and with his collaboration with OS developer Wataru Yoshizaki and Suidobashi Heavy Industry, the piloted mecha came to reality and future enhancements can be made.
Wataru Yoshizaki‘s V-Sido (“Bushido”) serves as the robot’s operating system for robot control and movement. The robot can be controlled in three ways: The robot can be piloted and controlled within the cockpit; an external master-slave control system can also be used, and lastly Kuratas can also be operated via 3G Network.
Suidobashi Heavy Industry also began streaming in their Youtube channel a promotional video which features the piloting and controlling the robot, as well as movement and mobility, armaments and weapons system such as LOHAS launcher, twin gatling gun that can fire 6,000 BB bullets per minute, locking target systems, and other featured technologies involved and safety precautions. The video also features the “Smile Shot” wherein once the pilot locks at a target, the pilot’s smile will trigger the firing of BB bullets to the target.
