Watch this video featuring a humanoid robot called Swumanoid at Tokyo Institute of Technology which would help researchers in the future. Developed by the Nakashima Group at Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, Swumanoid will help in analyzing how people can swim faster and develop speed-enhancing swimming apparel. Humanoid robots today can already walk and run and the developers aim to create one that truly swims.
The robot is currently in its prototype stage and swimming speed is slower and researchers are planning improvements to make it faster. Though the Swumanoid can already do the butterfly and backstroke. The developers would want it to swim freely in the future. Check out the video below to know more about the robot. What do you think?
