Fuji Electric’s High-Speed Food Radiation Testing System For Fukushima


Fuji Electric in Japan developed their high-speed Food Radiation Testing System and 50 of these machines have already been delivered to Fukushima. The high-speed testing system can quickly but accurately detect radioactive elements from 30-kg rice sacks by placing them in a conveyor belt that leads to a detector which measures as little as 10 seconds per sack.

This fall, Fuji Electric plans to release systems that handle other foods in addition to rice. Check out the video below for more info. What do you think of this technology to aid the Fukushima nuclear disaster?
