Toyota Motor Corporation recently developed a partner robot intended for persons with disabilities and provide everyday assistance to them. The robot can be easily controlled using the touch interface of a smartphone or even speech recognition.
The robot is compact, cylindrical in shape and varies in height from 83 cm to 1.3 m so it can reach things in high places. The robot can turn round in small spaces, as well as folding arms, which can do tasks such as fetching objects and opening curtains.
The robot was recently tested at Yokohama Rehabilitation Center and with these tests, further development and implementing more capabilities are needed like operating switches and opening doors. Check out the video below to know more about the robot.
