The teamLabHanger system might be the next trend in shopping malls with its unique and interesting feature. The technology, developed by teamLab in Japan, can be seen at the VQNQUISH Ikebukuro PARCO store, in cooperation with Ceno.
The teamLabHanger system works when a shopper gets a clothing from a rack with its hanger with which a nearby monitor will display photos or video showing models wearing the clothing the same as the shopper picked.
“When the hanger is removed, content is shown on the display. This is a switch, and it moves. When the hanger is on the rack it’s off, and it switches on when the hanger is removed. Each hanger has a unique ID. When the hanger is removed the ID is transmitted to a PC in the back, and content tied to that ID is then displayed on the monitor.”
