The classic space opera manga and anime television series “Space Pirate Captain Harlock” is resurrected and is coming back with i a visually-appealing remake featuring some impressive CG animation and space battles.
“Space Pirate Captain Harlock” is a manga series written and illustrated by Leiji Matsumoto (“Galaxy Express 999″, “Space Battleship Yamato”) and published by Akita Shoten from 1977 to 1979 in the Play Comic magazine. It was later adapted into anime series in 1978 directed by Rintaro (“Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals”, “Galaxy Express 999″) and produced by Toei Animation.
The upcoming CG remake is directed by Shinji Aramaki – famous for directing “Appleseed”, “Starship Troopers: Invasion” and “Halo Legends”. The animated film is coming this Fall. Take a good look of what to expect with the english-language teaser trailer below. What do you think?
