We finally get to see more of Motoko Kusanagi back in action with this promotional video for the upcoming all-new series “Ghost in the Shell: Arise”. Ghost in the Shell is a manga series written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. It was later adapted to anime series, animated feature films, video games and other media.A live-action Hollywood film was also planned with Dreamworks having acquired of the rights in 2008.
“Ghost in the Shell: Arise” will be a prequel tetralogy series which features a younger Motoko Kusanagi (will be voiced by singer and voice actress Maaya Sakamoto). She was also the voice actress to a younger Motoko Kusanagi in the earlier series and feature films. Like all the other anime series and feature films, the upcoming series will be produced by Production I.G.
Each of the four episodes will have 50 minutes and will premier in theaters in Japan beginning on June 22 (with the first episode “border:1 Ghost Pain”). Check out the first promotional video for the upcoming series.
