Omnidirectional Camera by Ricoh, Japan

Ricoh Company, Ltd. in Japan is currently developing a camera that takes a full 360 degrees panoramic image in a single shot. The camera is using two fish-eyed lenses each covering 180 degrees to achieve the full omnidirectional shot of the image. The resulting image can then be sent thru Wi-Fi and viewed from tablets and smartphones.

The developers aim to developing the technology using videos in the future as well. For now, the developers are studying how this technology will be accepted by the consumers and continuous development is in process to have different smaller versions. Check out the video below for more of the technology. Would you be grabbing one if it comes out on the market?
