Japanese rock band Hemenway announces today in their official Facebook page that they will be going in an indefinite hiatus after their last “One-man Live”, which will be held on the 5th of April.
Full text of their announcement below. Let’s hope for the best to the band members and hopefully we’ll be seeing them again in the future.
Dear all Fans and Supporters of “Hemenway”,
Today, we have to announce an unfortunate news to everyone:
“Hemenway” will be going on an indefinite hiatus after our last “One-man Live”, which will be held on the 5th of April.
We have been deeply contemplating on how to break this news to everyone, but we reached the conclusion that there is never an easy way to break this type of news to people who have been so dear to us.
“Hemenway” has always consisted of four musicians who had tremendous love for music. The four of us continued our musical journey together: Overcoming many obstacles, meeting new people, and experiencing a new world along the way.
As a result, our first album “The Music” was released at the end of last year. Just as the title suggests, we have worked very hard to record an album that defined our musical style and have tried to spread our music to as many people as possible. During this term, all of us had realized that the dream we each pursued was not heading in the same direction. We found ourselves losing our reason to be together and found ourselves unable to continue as a band.
We had uncertainties whether or not if we should continue our One-man Live Tour “The Music” this year. However, the members and staff discussed this matter and decided that we wanted to meet our supporters and perform to you one last time as Hemenway. We did not want to leave any regrets and wanted give the fans, the supporters, and ourselves closure. Plus, we sincerely want to perform as best as “Hemenway” can be in these last shows.
It has been about two years since our debut single “Listen”, which was released in November of 2011. We have no words to describe how much we appreciate each and every one of you guys who supported us. Thank you very much.
Though the four of us will walk our separate paths, we hope you would be kind enough to watch over us as we go and support us as each of us pursue our own dreams. It might seem like good bye for now, but we hope to see you again soon.
